Hosting your wedding in your backyard or the backyard of a family member or friend has been on the rise because of the pandemic. It comes with an ambiance that holds meaning to you, and there’s also the notion that it could be less expensive and safer. If you’ve chosen to move ahead with a backyard wedding or you’re in the process of making a decision, we thought we would shed some light on it. So here are some tips on how to go about your backyard wedding.
While they’re not as big as your traditional wedding, you still need to plan your backyard wedding. Do you or your parents have a backyard big enough? To answer this, you’ll need to come up with your potential guest list, the kind of reception you want, and the food you want to serve.
To be sure the space is big enough ask your caterer or rental company to visit the location once you have the potential guest count to confirm the place is big enough for your ceremony and location.
Consider parking space and bathrooms capacity
If you’ll be hosting your backyard wedding in the summer, it would be awesome! The weather and nature would have taken care of some of your décor costs. However, you might need to help it along a bit if you plan to have a garden and flowers.
Your backyard wedding is most likely going to be an outdoor wedding. With outdoor weddings, you’re always going to need a plan B. Our advice: get a tent.
Good lighting is one of the things that make for a fun wedding. It’ll certainly make the atmosphere of your backyard wedding better if you do it right.
Based on the number of people coming, you might need to rent more chairs, tables, and other wedding equipment. Try to do so from a rental company to make things easier.
All the best and memorable weddings are personalized. You’ve already taken a considerable step in this direction by choosing to have a backyard wedding. Why not go all the way? Lawn games, a smore bar, a photo booth are great options.
Depending on how much space you have to work with, you should probably split your backyard into areas or zones. It’ll make movement and coordination at your wedding way easier.
How do you do this? By having lovely pictures of you and your guests at your backyard wedding. Your photography should also go the creative way since that is the theme of this kind of wedding.
You need an expert to help you handle the planning of your backyard wedding successfully. They’ll have the connections and experience required to make sure everything goes smoothly without hitches. This will give you more time to focus on other essential things like your dress shopping and your relationship.
