Matthew and Carmen’s wedding was our first Middleburg Barn wedding and definitely will be one to remember. A week before the wedding weather was looking great (for March), around 40’s, BUT the day before the wedding day they announced a snowstorm. We had so much snow falling down that day that we had to go with our plan B and even think about plan C. Thank God we had a team of professionals that showed up for them and did their best to offer the couple and guests the best day ever. We rolled off our sleeves and make it happen for them.
We helped them to plan an Elegant yet rustic romantic wedding. It was a winter wedding with a spring twist in the middle of a snowstorm. We curated their ideas creating a mood board and color palette for their wedding. Once we nailed down the style and vibe for the wedding, we helped them find the perfect vendor team to bring all of their ideas to life. They were looking for a bilingual wedding planner (English/Spanish) so it could caterer the bride’s family who were from Honduras and I’m so happy they found us.
The color palette was peach, yellow, blush and white with black as accent color. The bridal bouquet was round hand tied with white hydrangeas; finished w/ antique white satin ribbon. The bridesmaids had a smaller hand tied bouquet with peach, yellow, and blush flowers. The flowers used were white stocks, yellow tulips, peach rose, blush spray roses, finished w/ribbon. For the table setting we incorporated the color palette with a black dinner plate, peach napkin and low centerpieces with the colors described prior.
One of the main focuses was the ceremony arch. It was beautifully decorated with flowers in the wedding color palette and white draping, Jenny from JP Wedding Flowers did a great job bringing their vision to life. After the ceremony we set up the head table in front of the arch to use it as a backdrop (repurposing flowers is always important).
Having a bilingual DJ was a priority for them, as well as the dessert table with a different assortment of traditional desserts and Latin flavors. For the couple also was important to have Carmen’s family members that couldn’t be present to be part of the ceremony, so we helped them to find a company to stream the ceremony live.
We also included their kids throughout the wedding. During the ceremony they incorporated a family pray and a sand ceremony with the kids. During a sand ceremony each of the family members holds an individual container of sand, each with its own special color. This sand represents you as an individual with all of the special qualities and quirks. Pouring the sand into the larger vessel represents the joining of their lives together, joining & blending as a family unit. The kids also met their mom halfway down the aisle and they were part of their first dance and cake cutting. Enjoy the pics!
