I wanted to plan a styled shoot for a while and being Latina I always thought about a Latin inspired wedding styled shoot. I preferred colorful, vibrant and bold tones that characterized the Latin style with an elegant setting which differs from others shoots with Mariachis. With that in mind I just needed to find a venue. While doing my venues tour I ran into The Regency at Dominion Valley, an elegant venue in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington DC. Regency at Dominion Valley weddings are any bride’s dream come true. Hope this blog post inspires you for your Regency at Dominion Valley wedding.
I loved this venue since the first time that I saw it because it has a little bit of everything including a beautiful ballroom with breathtaking views from the balcony, outdoor or indoor ceremony settings and picturesque areas for beautiful pictures. The ballroom features a bright and modern aesthetic décor with elegant chandeliers and a tail piano that I think that is particularly gorgeous. In addition it’s centrally located in Haymarket within Northern Virginia
So, having my inspiration and the venue I started the planning process. Hot pinks, plum, purple and orange were the main protagonist colors in this shoot. First, I got together with Shelley from Shelley’s Floral Enterprise to discuss the colors and she got my idea instantaneously. I wanted to incorporate a candelabra as the centerpiece and Shelley came up with a gorgeous cascade flower arrangement idea that turned out incredible!.
The cake was a romantic rounded three tier wedding cake created in white and decorated with assortments of pink peonies, orange roses, purple stock and orchids.
For the stationary we add Spanish tiles to the design mixing up the colors of the shoot palette. There is no way to go wrong with tiles designs; they are robust in color and beautiful to the eye.
The gorgeous wedding dress was created by Lilian West and the detailed lace really won me over. I love the V-neckline, the open back and how the dress follows the natural lines of the body featuring simple embellishments on the belt.
To complement the look I added a lace veil to keep the Latin inspired wedding feeling. As a final touch to match the Latin style inspiration I use a pair of custom purple earrings. We, Latinas, like to wear big anc colorful accessories!
I wanted the bride’s makeup to be dramatic but still keep it elegant and relaxed for a wedding during the day, and Lulu Vaca did a great job!. Since elegance and femininity was a must, Sabrina incorporated a graceful and beautiful low side braided bun for the bride’s hair.
The groom features a dark gray suit with a plum tie. To add some of the vibrant color to this outfit we added the orange rose as a boutonniere.
This Latin inspired wedding shoot had everything I was hoping for–color, elegance, and sabor latino–and to that I say–perfecto! Here are some more pictures for you to enjoy!
